The Drive AI integrates with Gmail and Outlook to automatically import email attachments to your workspace. Stop manually downloading and organizing attachments—let The Drive AI handle it automatically.Email integration is available on the Premium plan only.

Connecting Gmail
Authorize Access
Sign in to your Google account and grant The Drive AI permission to access your email attachments.
Import Past attachments
After successful authorization, you have an option to import past attachments:
- You will see an option to import historical file attachments
- Select how far back you want to go on history

How It Works
Automatic Import
Once connected, The Drive AI monitors your inbox for new attachments:- New email arrives with an attachment
- The Drive AI detects the attachment
- Attachment is imported to your workspace
- AI organizes the file into the appropriate folder
What Gets Imported
By default, The Drive AI imports common document types:- Documents: PDF, DOCX, DOC, TXT
- Spreadsheets: XLSX, XLS, CSV
- Presentations: PPTX, PPT
- Images: Images are not imported.

Configuration Options
Blocking Email Addresses and Domains
You can block attachments from specific senders or entire domains to prevent unwanted files from being imported. Blocking can be configured at two levels: Integration Level Block senders for a specific email integration (Gmail or Outlook):- Go to Settings > Email Integrations
- Select the integration you want to configure
- Click Blocked Senders
- Add email addresses (e.g.,
spam@example.com) or domains (e.g.,@marketing.com)
- Go to Settings > Workspace > Email Blocklist
- Add email addresses or domains to the block list
- These rules apply to all connected email accounts
Import Frequency
The Drive AI imports files real-time.Fetching Past Email Attachments
You can import historical email attachments from both Gmail and Outlook. This allows you to bring in attachments from emails received before you connected The Drive AI.Historical import may take some time depending on the number of emails and attachments in the selected date range.
Activity History
Track all email attachment activity in your workspace with the Activity History feature. This gives you complete visibility into what files are being imported and their status.Viewing Activity History
- Go to Settings > Email Integrations
- Click Activity History or View Activity
Activity Statuses
Each imported attachment shows one of the following statuses:| Status | Description |

| Uploaded | File was successfully imported to your workspace |
| Skipped | File was skipped based on your filter settings (blocked sender, excluded file type, etc.) |
| Duplicate | File was already imported previously and skipped to avoid duplicates |
| Unsupported | File type is not supported for import |
Activity Details
For each activity entry, you can see:- File name and type
- Sender email address
- Email subject
- Date and time of activity
- Status and any relevant notes
Email Metadata
Imported attachments retain metadata about their source:- Sender email address
- Email subject
- Date received
- Original filename
Managing Your Email Connection
Disconnecting
To completely disconnect your email:- Go to Settings > Integrations > Email
- Click Disconnect next to the email account
- Confirm the disconnection
Privacy & Security
What data do you access?
What data do you access?
The Drive AI only accesses email attachments. We do not read, store, or process the text content of your emails. Only attachment files are imported to your workspace.
Is my data secure?
Is my data secure?
Yes. All data transfers are encrypted. Your email credentials are handled through secure OAuth—we never see or store your password.
Can I revoke access?
Can I revoke access?
Yes. You can disconnect The Drive AI from your email account at any time. You can also revoke access from your Google or Microsoft account settings.
Troubleshooting
Attachments Not Importing

- Check that the email integration is enabled (not paused)
- Verify the attachment file type is in your include list
- Ensure you have sufficient storage space
- Check that the email folder is being monitored
- Check the Activity History to see if files were skipped or marked as unsupported
Missing Old Attachments
Missing Old Attachments
By default, only new attachments (after connection) are imported. Use the Fetch Past Attachments feature to import historical attachments from before you connected. See Fetching Past Email Attachments for details.
Duplicate Files
Duplicate Files
Enable Skip Duplicates in your settings to prevent the same attachment from being imported multiple times. You can view duplicate detections in the Activity History.
